Running on Windows 10 PC architecture means the AMD powered Sulon Q VR headset may just be a major competitor to the likes of the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. The advantage to consumers though is that it does not require a high-end PC to run which increases its affordability to a large slice of the gaming market.
Another aspect that sets it apart from its competition is that the processing power is built into the device; ie it can run "console-quality" games and applications all without the need for being tethered to a separate PC.
The Sulon Q also has lenses on the headset that allow for an augmented reality too, not just VR. This capability in essences encroaches on the prospective demographic of users interested in the features of Microsoft's HoloLens (see next article).
To round off the features of this headset there are built in earbuds for 3D audio and an embedded mic with noise cancellation abilities as well.
